Tony had the "pleasure" of a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy today. They went up through the bottom and down through the top. They were checking out his GI tract for any sign of graft vs. host disease, or anything else that could be causing the bad nausea and diarrhea. Needless to say, we were pretty sure that he had graft vs. host. So we were quite surprised when the doctor said that he didn't think that was the problem. He said his colon was perfect. In his words, "Tony is a perfect a** hole." He said the only problems he saw were in his stomach. He has some swelling in his stomach and the doctor is pretty sure that it has been caused by all of the medication that Tony is taking. He gave him a prescription (yes, I know, another prescription) for something that will help his tummy to not be so acidic. It should stop any further damage, but the real solution is going to be taking him off of some of the many medications. He is going to talk to Tony's oncology doctor and discuss what medications he can go without. All in all though, this is really good news. No GVHD means that Tony can heal faster and start feeling better sooner. Hooray!
Awesoooome! Glad to hear it. Still praying lots. Love you guys. Enjoy the Virginia Spring. :) Take a picture of that gorgeous Dogwood tree in front of your apartment when it blooms.
