Snowzilla

I am finally posting after our crazy snowzilla (schools were closed for over a week).

We got two feet of snow in less than 48 hours which is crazy for this area. 

So we capitalized on the situation and built a snow cave. It was my very first snow cave, so I'm quite proud.

Jack also loved the snow days, because we just opened up the door that separates upstairs from us and the upstairs neighbor kids and Jack just played together pretty much nonstop. 

Jack's Interview

For Valentines Day Tony and I did this little question game to see how well we know each other. We decided to ask Jack some of the questions as well. Here was his interview. These are his answers:

What is your favorite place to go with friends? Callie's House
What is your favorite dinner? Mac & Cheese and an orange
What is something you want mom to stop doing? Not playing games with me when I want you to.
What is your favorite toy? Trains
What color looks best on Mom? Red
What is your favorite car? School Bus
What is your favorite thing to do by yourself? Play quietly with trains
What is your favorite song? Happy Family
What is your favorite thing to clean? The tile in the kitchen
What is your favorite fruit? Pears and Mangos. Oh, and Watermelon too.

If we moved and you could only bring one thing with you, what would it be? My pillow and blanket would be a good idea. Oh, and nemo. Yeah yeah, Nemo. (Nemo is his fish stuffed animal that he sings to sleep, that always needs a high five after I give Jack a high five, or a sticker after Jack that gets a sticker. He also has his own pillow and blanket, and is sorely missed when Jack goes to preschool or church without him)
What do you want to be when you grow up? A superhero that flies
What is your favorite sport? First answer: Like a car? He thought we were asking his favorite sports car. Final decision: Cars Racing (we also explained that soccer, basketball, etc... are sports. But cars are just so much cooler I guess)
What's the farthest from home you've been? The hotel (with explanation, he was talking about the hotel we stayed at in Pennsylvania for Nate's Eagle Scout Award. In reality, Vegas is the farthest he has been)
What is your favorite candy? Lolipops (they are not called suckers back East. No one will know what you are talking about if you say sucker. So Jack is a true Easterner since he answered with Lolipop).
What is your favorite thing to do with mom? Help crack eggs
What is your favorite thing to do with dad? being chased and chasing dad.
What is your favorite thing about the way mom looks? The silver stuff on your eyes (makeup)
What is your favorite thing about the way dad looks? Mouth, Nose and Eyes
If you could call anyone, who would it be? Callie's mom to see if I could come and play.
What is your favorite pie? Mango pie (I've never had this....neither has Jack. haha)
What is your favorite movie? Monsters University with the good monsters

4 weeks in Utah

We were able to go to Utah for the holidays this year. (this is the first year since moving to Virginia that we have spent Christmas in Utah)

Sadly, I didn't take near enough pictures. But here are a few that I did:

Here are the 3 boys on my side of the family that were born this year. We never did get a picture of all 4 boys born this year. (my cousin had a boy as well) It's funny because back in 2012 there were 5 boys born on my side all in one year. You would have thought we planned it that way or something. Haha. They are going to be a fun bunch as teenagers for sure.

Jack was so so so excited for snow. He talked about it every day leading up to the trip. And it started snowing right when we landed in Utah. Just a flurry, but still. Wish granted. It then snowed a bunch in the weeks following. Jack definitely got his snow. (Also, he loves his hat. He calls it his Dark Vader hat).

One of the biggest reasons we went out to Utah was actually for Tony's little brother Brad's wedding (as you can see in the picture, he is actually the tallest one in the family) The picture below is of everyone! Hooray!

And since they are gamers, she made these other cakes too. They are wii remotes. The sign says "wii do." So clever.

While we were in Utah the twins were blessed. Here they are in their handsome suits:

3 Months Old

Well, It's happening. They are growing up. Such cuties!

My friend Lara has been over quite often to help with the twins. She just loves cuddling these cuties.

Beach Trip and Other Fun Stuff

My parents were able to come help for a little more than 2 weeks. Jack loved the many bike rides his Grandpa took him on. He even biked all the way to the zoo.

We were fortunate enough to go down to the Outer Banks with Tony's parents. Our friends let us stay in their beach house. It was tons of fun. Jack really embraced the waves. 

Tony and Jack dug a big hole in the sand. We went over to the Sound side to a beach we frequently have enjoyed in the past, but this time there was a sign posted that warned against swimming because of a dangerous bacteria. So we played in the sand instead. 

The hole got pretty deep. 

The twins are getting to be great eaters and sleepers. And they are growing up fast. They are both excellent at holding/lifting their heads. You can already see how blue Cody's eyes are going to be. 

We do tend to have a pretty noisy house nowadays. Kevin is sleeping with his ears plugged.

No Longer Newborns

The twins are growing up so fast!

Cody is our wide eyed little guy. He is a good eater and has now surpassed his (older by 24 minutes) brother in weight.  They are both over ten pounds now.

Kevin is still our sweet little cuddler. 

They love being by each other.

I'm starting to wonder why all babies don't come in twos. Twins are the best!
